The Provincial officers of Capiz together with its City officials officially opened the annual celebration of Sinadya sa Halaran ’08 last December 8, 2008. The celebration started with a civic parade at around 8:00 in the morning which was attended and participated by officials from different sectors of Capiz and by different chapters, groups and schools here in Roxas City, Capiz. The celebration also featured different social entertainment such as concerts, pageants, “sadsad” and games for people with all ages. And on the religious side, the annual “prusisyon sa suba” was observed with a crane lifting it up from the river followed by the lighting of beautiful and remarkable fireworks. The fiesta lasted for 5 days (Decmeber 4 -8, 2008) and event though it rained through the celebration, it didn’t stop the Capiceños to enjoy and celebrate the fiesta and the celebration of city’s patron, Mary Mother Immaculate which shows that Capiceños are indeed fun loving and has religious people.
